6.5 What to Do If a Payment Is Delayed

Steps to take when a payment does not arrive as expected during an active P2P trade.

§Common Causes of Delays

Payment delays can occur for several legitimate reasons. Bank maintenance windows, particularly on weekends and holidays, can slow down NEFT and RTGS transactions. High transaction volumes during end-of-month salary periods can cause temporary delays.

UPI transactions can occasionally fail silently, where the amount is debited from the sender but not credited to the receiver. These typically auto-reverse within 24 hours.

Some banks have daily processing cut-off times after which NEFT transactions are queued for the next batch. Check your bank's specific processing schedule.

§Steps to Take

If a payment has not arrived within the expected timeframe, communicate with your trading partner through the CryptoBazaar platform. Ask them to verify that the payment was successfully debited from their account and to share the transaction reference number.

Check with your bank if there are any holds or delays on incoming transfers. Sometimes banks hold large incoming transfers for manual review.

If the delay extends beyond a reasonable period (30 minutes for UPI, 2 hours for IMPS, half a day for NEFT), raise a dispute on the platform. CryptoBazaar's support team can help investigate and mediate.

Do not release escrow based on promises that the payment will arrive later. Only release after the funds are confirmed in your account.
