8.3 What Happens During an Investigation

Understanding the investigation process and what to expect when a dispute is being reviewed.

§Initial Review

When a dispute is raised, CryptoBazaar's support team first reviews the trade details and the initial evidence submitted by both parties. The team verifies the trade parameters including the agreed amount, payment method, and the identities of both parties.

During the initial review, the team may contact both parties for clarification or additional evidence. Respond to these requests promptly, as delays can extend the investigation timeline.

§The Investigation Process

The investigation involves cross-referencing the evidence from both parties. The team verifies payment claims against bank records, checks for consistency in the information provided, and reviews the platform chat history for relevant context.

In some cases, the team may need to verify information with banking institutions or payment processors. This is particularly relevant for disputes involving payment reversals or alleged unauthorized transactions.

The investigation is conducted impartially. The team's goal is to determine the facts of the case based on evidence, not to favour either party.

§What to Do During the Investigation

While the investigation is in progress, do not attempt to resolve the trade outside the dispute process. Do not make additional payments, and do not communicate with the other party about the dispute through channels outside the platform.

Be patient but responsive. The support team is working through disputes in the order they are received, and complex cases may require additional time.

If you have new information or evidence that becomes available during the investigation, submit it through the dispute interface. New evidence can be important for resolving the case accurately.
