8.2 Evidence Required for Disputes

What evidence to collect and submit when filing a dispute to maximize your chances of a favourable resolution.

§Essential Evidence

The most important evidence in a P2P trading dispute is the bank transaction record. This should be a screenshot or export from your banking app or net banking portal showing the transaction details including the amount, date, time, sender name, receiver name, and transaction reference number.

For buyers, this proves that payment was made to the correct account for the correct amount. For sellers, checking their bank statement confirms whether a payment was actually received.

Platform chat logs are automatically available to the support team, but you can highlight specific messages that are relevant to the dispute.

§Supporting Evidence

Additional evidence that strengthens your case includes full bank statements showing the transaction in context (not just a single transaction screenshot), UTR or transaction reference numbers that can be independently verified, and screenshots of any error messages or issues encountered during the trade.

If the dispute involves a payment amount discrepancy, provide evidence showing the exact amount that was sent or received.

If the dispute involves a suspected scam, document any suspicious behaviour such as requests to communicate outside the platform, pressure tactics, or conflicting information from the other party.

§Tips for Strong Evidence

Submit evidence as soon as possible after raising the dispute. Fresh evidence is more compelling and easier to verify than evidence collected days later.

Ensure screenshots are clear and complete. Partial screenshots or blurry images may not be accepted as sufficient evidence.

Do not alter or edit any evidence. Submitting manipulated evidence is a serious violation and can result in the dispute being resolved against you and potential account suspension.

Provide context for your evidence. A brief explanation of what each piece of evidence shows helps the support team understand your case quickly.
